Ensure that the vacuum plate is an exact fit for your skimmer pump model for proper functioning. An improper fit can lead to poor suction, leakage from the vacuum plate's sides, and the warping of the vacuum plate.

Before installing the vacuum plate, remove all air from the vacuum hose by placing the hose in the pool and allowing the discharge water to push the air out efficiently. There is no need to remove the skimmer filter canister, as the vacuum plate will sit securely on top of the debris basket.

To prevent debris from interfering with the pump's suction, you can use a fine-mesh bag or pantyhose over the return outlet.
